Water problem

I have a water problem on my driveway. I get water trapped at the bottom of the drive and it's doing my head in. It's making my drive stink and it's rotting my drive. The slabs on my drive are coming loose when I park the car up 🙁. I have just this last week removed the paving slabs and replaced it with soil and turf. I thought the water would soak through the soil, but it's just the same again as before. The turf is probably no good now as it's sitting in a pool of water. Can I get some sort of filter or do anything else to get rid of this water pooling at the bottom of my drive? Thanks

Get the council in to have a look at it Mark, I don't think that is something you should need to try and fix.

They won't touch it Matt as they said they never fitted the drive onto the house. The last owner had it fitted. The water has no place to run and it sits all on one corner 🙁

Does the shape of the drive point down hill to that part where all the water is pooling at the bottom?

It sure does. I dug a hole on the soil part the place the water goes and it's filled up. It's not going away through the soil. I hit clay so far down and kept going. The hole I did is full of water but the drive is dry now. A bit more rain and the water will probably flow over the hole and on the drive again. It's got me beat

How far away are the drains from the bottom of the drive? Looks like you'd need to build something which can connect where the water is pooling at the bottom of the drive to the main drainage system?

I don't have any drains near the bottom of the drive Matt, they are at the other end of the drive 🙁 . This is the only place my drive suffers from water being trapped. The drive needs to be raised this side in the pictures but that looks / sounds a mission to do, or I need the soil to soak in the water some how and make it run off some place

Could you just dig a channel out to make it flow elsewhere and not pool at the bottom?

Well I have just dug down 2 and a half foot and it's clay all the way as far as I can see 🙁. The bottom is thick with clay, no place for the water to run off

I don't know, it's only thin. I was thinking it may be electric?

yellow is usually gas
