pistons/conrods

Hi,
Just bougth a spare SE engine, The head seems to be ok, but it has a broken conrod.
I just wonderd what type of conrod and pistons I should buy if I want to build this engine up again?
Maby some pistons with more compression? But I dont want to change the valves and cams if I dont have to.

check the crank isn't damaged if the big ends went, but otherwise if you want a good bottom end for tuning then fit Eagle steel rods and some wiseco forged pistons.
If you want a standard engine then best to buy some used secondhand z22se pistons and rods

I was going to send the crank to engine specialist. But there is no problem to use eagle rods and wiseco pistons on stock head?

no problem at all, but you need to decide what you want to do to the engine in the future, NA will need CR 10:1 pistons and SC 8.9:1 pistons

Ok, But lets say I want to have an SC on it, would I have to do anything to the head?

the only thing you could do to the head whilst it's off is open up the exhaust ports to the size of the exhaust gasket, you only need to do it to 10mm depth, works wonders with the bhp

Thank you for the info. Seems I`ll be buying a set of 8.9 and 10. Then I can build two engins with different outcome.
