Vectra C z22se ECU Remap Advice

Hi,

I have a Vectra C '03 z22se. I was hoping to get a remap maybe just to help economy, any performance improvements is a bonus.

Had a small local company out who said they could remap the car. Once they turned up turned out they actually cant.

A lot of companies have the car down to have a delco ecu. My car has a motorola. Believed to be E16-Z22SE from some reading on here.

M.P.G have emailed me today and said a remap is not possible (via eds). One company has said they will be able to map the ecu but would need to remove the chip from the ecu to do so. One company also mentioned it can be done via OBD port using the Frieling SPI Tool.

Hoping you guys could help me.

No point remap ur car if you Havent upgraded ur engine 1st

so not even a phase 1 type map to improve economy would be worth considering. Or to take out some of the flat spots

I did indeed, well that's questionable, it's been proven many times on here unless you have a heavily modded car it is not worthwhile.

But if you do go for it be very careful who does it I would really only go to CS or possibly RSTuning.

CS=Courtenay Sport?...i did talk to them..no chance...with the other one ..i haven't tried...but i will...Let me put it in this...way...what have i done to my car...modified gear box...

i was thinking to add an turbo from 2.0 t... z20net but ive been told...i might blow up the engine ...so i quit...I wish i can change the inlet manifold with 2.4 saturn ion...and so on

I wouldn't trust anyone but Courtenay to map a z22se ecu. I did try 2 other company's one didn't get much gain just up to 151bhp with full exhaust and panel filter running vpower fuel, so they didn't charge me,
the other was after new manifolds, cams and head work but they totally ruined it and I ended up putting a standard Vauxhall map on and gained more.
since Courtenay mapped it, it runs great.
as said you will not see much gain or benefit unless you have made other mods such as cams and head work.

As i said before i did talk to CS...and they said... they can not do it on this ECU...don't forget is a 2003 vectra c..not b..or astra...I know it can be done ..but can't find the right person ..same thing happened with the gearbox..after modification i gained ...low consumption at higher speed...but in town..is a bit juice..and all i want is just to put right the combustion(mixture)

my understanding was the vec c is a nightmare to map the ecu with the 2.2 engine
if CS said no then i dont think there will be many out there that can they can do pretty much everything vauxhall

the ecu on the vec c is not the same as the astra/vectra b down to full can bus astras and vectra b have half can bus and fully mappable to date

yep...indeed they are different than astra and vectra b...the only way can it b done is manually /chipped...But i wont give up ..I'm sure i will find someone...

early Vectra C's share the same ECU as all the other z22se engine cars. It does surport canbus as I have proved with my Corsa C z22se conversion.
