Hi everyone i'm a newbie here so sorry if this isn't in the right section as i'm just getting to grips with this new site.
Anyway today i bought a cheap 2.2 vectra on a 02 plate with 64,000 miles knowing that it had blue smoke coming from exhaust under acceleration,i only bought it for the panels ie doors, bumpers etc as they are in really good condition and i have a 1.8 vectra the same colour so i was going to swap panels over etc, anyway i've heard it could be pistons or valve stem seals causing the blue smoke but i want to be 100% certain on the problem,i noticed today whilst the engine was running what i thought was water slowly dripping from the exhaust onto the floor,i stuck my fingers in it and smelt it and realised it was fuel,i plugged in opcom and theres no fault codes stored at all,i checked the oil level dipstick and i can't see any mayo around the filler cap,the car seems to drive great with plenty of power but under acceleration the blue smoke looks bad and theres a smell to it that i can't describe, can anyone help me out on this problem please maybe point me in the right direction, thanks.
