edison am new on this site and have a problem.. entering my street last nite i felll i hit something but cant really tell and went to park my car.. is a 2.2 astra limited edition. the next day i got up and went to start the car but to ma surprise, d car started making some noise which was coming out from the bottom engine and also oil light was on and look under the car i found out that, the oil has been dropin very fast took a close look and see that my oil sump has been blown out with this big hole.. have got a pic to show... please any one no what might have happen as am freaking out, really dont have money for a new engine now
Matt Shit! That's not good! Defo needs a new sump fitting. If the oil drained slow enough and the engine hasn't been started, I'd have thought it shouldn't have suffered any damage from oil starvation. Sure someone else will be along and confirm though.
sandyc Wouldn't know without hearing it. Hopefully you stopped it in time before you did any damage. The noise may just be the piece of sump rattling about inside. Try a new sump with fresh oil and a filter see what happens. You may be lucky.
