New today to the site. Have been on here a few times & found some really useful info & thought it was about time I signed up so here I am.
I currently drive an SE2 Astra Coupe 2.2 (weekend car) & an Omega Estate CDX 2.6 V6 (daily workhorse).
Have just bought an Astra convertible with a damaged 2.2 engine & boy is it damaged!!!
The right hand chain guide was found in several pieces in the bottom of the engine & the tensioner had seized causing the chain to jump leading to the inevitable pistons kissing the valves. All the big end bolts were loose?? Removed piston no 2 & found this-
Pretty knackered huh!!
New engine time me thinks...
