Guys..Plz Help..My Manifold is cracked and i need a new one - VXL quoted 270.00 - is there a cheap aftrmarket one - my mates at ats will fit it for me..

The list price for these is £81, I know I bought one last week!

It was to replace the one that lasted 17K which itself was a replacement for the original that managed to last 31K.

So 2 cracked manifolds in 48K miles, I'm doing well!

As for after market replacements my cracked one is going to the Tech Director at PECO, he's going to look and see how cost effective it would be to make some that don't crack!

Was told by people who know rather more than me about these things that it won't hold for long, welding was my first idea.

Hopefully mine will last a few more weeks until I buy my shiny BMW 740iL, hmmmmm 4.4 litre V8, might be interesting .......... 8)

i work at aga rayburn and i work with cast iron every day all day lol and from what Ive found you have to burr a groove in to the crack and weld in to it. i fixed my mates rover 620si manifold this way and its still going so i believe that was a year and a half ago lol... just the other day i got miffed and broke my stone race it took me 4 good whacks on the bench before it broke and that was welded that way lol

OH!! a Grinding wheel dresser! Now i know what you mean, I use one all the time in the workshop, I just havent heard it called that before, then again I dont really know what its proper name is? thanks anyway buddy!
