never really checked for them, are they supposed to be standered feature then??

No not standard feature in uk. I think its an optional extra but very rare on cloth seats, even some leather/alcanterra seats dont have them.

yeah! how bigga job would it have been if the seats did have air bags fitted

Really strange, we have side airbags even in a cheap-ass versions :p

Not much really. Not sure about the hatchback but my silver coupe has all the wiring for the airbags & leather heated seats. so when i do swap my cloth interior for something nicer i can just plug and play. Also i noticed the airbag sensor wiring in the doors is just cable tied up with a bag over the connector.

Best thing is to have a look under your seat/ashtray & behind door cards.

had my first full day today with the new addition, and with the glorious weather, i went out for a long drive to get to her abit better, and i must say compared to my 1.8 she feels much more responsive and quicker, which pleasantly supprised me as the specs i.e 0-60/top speed are relatively the same on paper.

ive had the car for a few weeks now and im well pleased, all i have done so far is de-restrict the air box and replace the existing panel filter with one from K&N, im planning to do a service as soon as work and life give me time to do it, next monday the windows are getting tinted and the headlights are getting changed. i will post some photos when this is done. for the time being heres some photos of how she is now

Did you sand them flat before painting them?

yeah sanded and cleaned before but not wet/dry sanded between coats got a couple of very little blobs, but im gona T-cut them out in couple of weeks i think they turned out really well considering id never done this before.
