Made a start taking a few bits off the coupe today, ready to fit them to the vxr...

Whiteline ARB and my front engine mount insert.
Gave the ARB a clean and and painted it red to match the car ..

Looks good Daz, you keeping the open induction kit? Was the tyres shot?

Cone filter is goin si.... not a fan at all.... debating to

A. CDTI airbox or
B. Use 2.2 airbox and pipes from the coupe .

The tyres look ok when i bought it, but on the ramp the inners were shot....

CDTI Daz, didn't think the 2.2 box fits into the MK5.

Todays progress..

Fitted the RARB, but gave the rear beam a clean and a coat of black paint, painted the calipers black and fitted my battery cover.. also sat the 2.2 airbox in place to see if it fits, and it does. however fitting the pipework may be an issue as the aircon pipe sits where the inlet pipe needs to be..also fitted the front engine mount insert..

Fitted the new rear gearbox mount tonight,took about 15mins to do... as the one bolt is above the exhaust...

Also cleaned the rear archs out and gave them a coat of red paint.

Next is to do is clean up the liners and the same on the front archs,
Got a new lower grill on route from ebay, as the one fitted kept falling out of the bumper, retaining lugs are broke, thought it was a bargain at £10 plus delivery, but i could have got it from my local dealer for £8+vat

Its a bit odd in all honesty jase,,, the precat pipe is 2.75" the main cat pipe is 3" and the cat back is 2.5"

engine enamel si, as i already had it in the cupboard..

And todays update.

The hoses i ordered to fit the 2.2 airbox came today, so that was one of tonights jobs....

And after a few cuts of the new pipes.

Fitted some can led sidelight bulbs

and finally cleaned the rear arch liners.

2.2 Airbox looks good Daz. Still on my list of "to do" things on the VXR

New lower grill fitted tonight, was a right bitch to clip into place. also finsihed cleaning up the front archs, so made a start on the wheels.. i hope its nice on the weekend now, so when there painted they can bake in the sun for a few hrs
