astra turns over but wont start up 2.2 coupe bertone

hi just bought a 2001 astra bertone with a knackered engine, fitted a replacment engine turned it over and it wont fire up just turns over, checked the fuel rail and fuel is getting through no eml on the dash when turning over changed coil pack still nothing also turn the light switch on and no lights front or back no indicators or hazard lights work either but brake lights do work, and the central locking will not work when i put key in drivers door it locks drivers door but nothing else ,any help would be great as i dont know where to start now

have you checked all the grounds mate ?

could that be a problem a bad earth which fault would that be linked to???

could be mate worth a try had smiliar probs with my mg turnt out to be a ground issue

just strange mate how central locking wont work off the key and no front or back light or idicators wont work plus on top of all that the engine wont start

does your engine management flash when turning over ?

no eml does not flash up when itsturned over mate

that rules out the immobiliser then

i will double check tomorrow when i go back down the unit might even try my opcom on it do you think that will tell me what the problem is?????

also the dash dials do not work either please please need help giveme some ideas where to look

have you changed the ecu when swapping over the engine ?

yeah changed ecu,took ecu off old engine and fitted to replacment engine

check crank sensor is plugged in

You need to go back through all your wiring mate and check for any missed or dodgy connections.
Check you haven't missed a power lead to the battery too. Not just your main connection but any leads that attach to it that may have been missed.
If all else fails check your fuses etc.

checked all wires checked all fuses checked all connections checked crank sensor, still nothing. when ignition is turned on no eml light comes up on the dashboard not even when it is being turned over, no spark to the plugs either, strange thing is tho like i said before no side lights head lights tail lights indicators dash lights or hazard lights thats what is really puzzeling me

also plugged my opcom in and it wont connect with the ecu,i know opcom works as tried it on my vec and astra van
