stemacca hi i have the 2.2 vectra b and i need a new engine so just replacing it with the same 2.2. Can i remove the old engine and fit the new one without taking the gearbox out? dont want to remove drive shafts etc if i can avoid it. thanks ste
flatbeat you can but its tight when i replaced the one in my astra i took the engine and the box out in one then split it on the deck as it comes out better and you dont have to mess about trying to line it up with the splines and box lugs i had mine in and out then running the same day
stemacca Ok thanks will do it that way then, will make me change the gearbox fluid that i have wanted to do for a while anyway. Is there any clips on the inner drive shaft? 1 of my old cars had 1 an it was a pain to get it out
flatbeat no once you have popped the bottom ball joints they will just pop with a bit of help then just move them out of the way or if you undo the 30mm hub nut you can take them out of the way
