vectra c rear caliper

tried to wind in the piston on the caliper but couldnt get it to wind in ...

using the dowel holes on the piston its almost impossible to turn

think its bosch caliper with the spring on the front any ideas

oh and hand brake was of and mechanism homed

either brute force & ignorance or a new caliper. I had same trouble with the rear caliper on 1 of my coupes. Eventually it saw the light and wound back but it was a pig!

Are you using a wind back tool mate? I've had both mine do this and its a common thing on the Vec C. Unfortunately you cant get a full service kit like the fronts. There are only 2 types of calliper for the Vec c, one fits the 2.0T and all V6's and the other fits all the other's SRi or not. I just bought some from a newer car via ebay, there easy to fit, you just need a good set of mole grips to get the handbrake outer cable out of the cast.

hello all ...
i use a big g clamp for doing all my calipers but this wouldnt even move it ..

once the g clamp is tought it winds the piston in at same time ..

the piston comes out easy but you can see that it dosnt jump back that wee bit to take the tension of the brakes..

might just rubber it and get one from the local breakers

a was able to work it in a little but just went solid
