Vectra SRi estate suspension

Afternoon all,

On the Vectra SRi estate, I believe out of the factory it has a 20mm drop. Is that on the same shocks as the undropped ones?

I've had the front springs changed for undropped ones and it looks pants, so I want to sort the ride height out! What do you recommend? I'm done coilovers before and I don't want that harshness again, I might consider lowering springs but I'm reckon they'll be too harsh too. Can I get replacement 20mm drop springs anywhere for a reasonable price?

Eibach springs are the best set up for the vec in my opinion, 35mm drop but give a nice, firmer but smooth ride. Even better when fitted with Bilstein dampers.

I have Eibach & Bilstein B8's. Wicked! 8)

The Vectra SRi 150 did indeed have lowered suspension. Some people fit V6 listed aftermarket springs and it makes your car look like a 4x4 as do standard springs.

i currently have apex shocks with hottuning springs lowered 60mm f 40mm r .but i have a new set up ready to go on ive opted for bilstein b4 and kw lowering springs 40mm all round
this is how it sits at the mo

its no too bad the front is a bit harsh over bumps and potholes ,also considering the shocks are about 4-5 yrs old they are still firmish ,you dont get the nodding dog syndrome lol

Hmm, worth looking into but I think they might be a bit out of my price range. I'm wondering if I might be better off just getting some OE replacements?

Any ideas where I can get them? Done a bit of Googling but can't find any SRi springs available.

Also, I have a fair bit of front caster and about -2.5deg of camber on each of the rear wheels. I feel I can put the caster at least a bit down to having massive springs on the front, but any other ideas?

Another quick one, are estate springs the same on the front as hatch and saloon ones? I assume the rear are different...

All the springs are the same fitment. Its the weight ratings which differ

Thanks Daz. Sorry for dragging this topic back up, but does anybody know of anyone with some 2.2 SRi estate springs for sale? I'm after both fronts.

What shocks would be best matched with stock springs? Does anybody have any experience with KYB Excel-G shocks on the Vectra? I had them on my old Almera and they were pretty good.

If you are matching with standard springs, Bilstein B4's would be my own personal choice. They are the OE replacement version from Bilstein.

i bought these for mine ,very good price think they are the b4's,cant comment on how they are yet as ive not fitted them
