hi all

just need some help with something. Plugged the laptop into the car today no reason really but wanted to just check everything over as the car is new to me. Once i plugged it in i had the code P0405 come up and this is before i started the engine. No once you clear the fault it doesn't come back until you switch of and switch on the ignition again. From what i can see under the bonnet the egr valve has been removed and a blanking plate put in but i cant see a egr cheater anywhere. If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great.

i was under the impression that if you dont fit a cheater the best option is to leave the valve wired and in place and blank the inlet manifold side. notsure.gif

thats what ive done with mine ,never had any codes come up for the egr

So hopefully if I put in a cheater it should sort this code out.

yeah or as pottsey said i left mine in place but i pressume the valve is completely missing?
