hi there first post by me as i am a noob
wish i had know of the issues about the timming chain as i think mine just snapped with no warning, engine was running sweet no knocking noise or any warnings was driving along the M1 at about 80 ish when all power went revs dropped pulled onto the hard shoulder tried to start the car and nothing. got the car transported home and tried to start it again and was rewarded with a load bang and a flash of flame from engine bay

so i take it the chain has snapped cars only done 82k vauxhall laughed at me when i tried to talk to them about the field remedy 1532 thought i would try me luck lol

so was asking if theres anyone on here who rebuilds engines or sells recon engines and if they do how much is it gonna cost or should i just scrap my baby

I know of a 20k engine for sale, still in the car at the moment but due to be removed soon to fit a 300bhp SC engine.

Or another engine which just needs a crank (ran low on oil and killed a big end shell), new chain kits already fitted and the balancer delete has been done, plus your current crank could be used.

Hi i will be breaking my 2.2 vectra engine is sweet with 76k. The car tax is a killer so i will be breaking it

looks like i will be doing the same due to cash flow issues i wont be able to repair my car most garages want 350 just to fit the engine
i cant afford that and an engine so looks like i will close this thread and go with the selling for spares or repair thread i started
