Hi, my name is James, user name coach potato because I'm a coach & bus driver & a lazy git, a play on words really & my attempt at humour, lol. I have recently bought a 51 plate Vectra 2.2cdx estate with 47k on the clock. This isn't my first Vec, I've had a few inc a 1.8sri & a gsi & this is the first car I've had in almost a year as I sold the gsi & bought a motorbike to use for work to cut down on fyel costs last year. The reason I've got this now is my fiancee Sarah is pregnant with our first child, due 30th Jan, & her Corsa won't be big enough with all the junk we're gonna have to carry now, so I managed to persuede her we needed a Vec estate & this lovely, low mileage example came up on fkeabay with leather & all the toys. I eventually won it for £1120, so now I'm looking for subtle mods that are cheap that she won't notice yet, lol. Don't know much about these engines so I'm here to learn, but I do know these suffer with chains but thankfully it's already had one done recently as it's had a top end rebuild due to chain failure.
