Fitted my Reverse Camera

Well I managed to get my reverse camera fitted up. I can't get it to come on when I select reverse for some reason, but that may have something to do with my Pioneer has it's own Pioneer camera port for a reverse camera dunno.. . I have to press AV2 to access my rear camera. The main thing is it works and I can see better, so my girlfriend can see better when parking my pride and joy up :lol: . The quality is good, easy to fit. I am just wondering if I can get around having the camera come on when I hit reverse gear notsure.gif . The Pioneer port for the reverse camera is not the usual RCA port as it's a plug, so thats made things tricky. Pioneer wanted people to buy the camera from them, to make more money by the looks of it :roll: . Video of my camera below....

I have just found what my AV1 is, just had a flick through the settings and it's on the ipod notsure.gif . It can change from Ipod to Video on AV1. Does it make a difference if I have the camera on AV2? notsure.gif

Have you had a look on Google to see if there are any adapters for converting the RCA to pioneer fitment?

No Matt, never thought about that. I doubt it but it's worth a try as it's a newish system

Well I just went and read the manual my car radio came with from in the box as I was reading the one they do online. The one online was not very good at telling you about the reverse camera. The hand manual has helped me loads. Two things I need to do tomorrow now are, take the radio out. Join the reverse gear signal imput wire Violet/White wire up to my reverse camera :roll: :lol: . It had one all the time, online manual was poop. I also need to join up my Car Speed Signal Imput wire for my nav while I am on it.

Both of those should be available on the back of the connects2 Mark, that is where I connected mine to.

Cool, If I remember right I did have a couple of spare wires hanging loose from the connects2 wiring. Can you remember the colour of the wire for the reverse wire on the connects2 leads? Hope it's the same colour as the Pioneer wire. Cheers

It should be labelled up Mark. The problem I had, was that I'd wrapped them all together to tidy it up, and didn't realise it was there :shh:

I am happy Matt, I tried to do it the hard way by not taking the radio out, but I had to remove it to join up all the right stuff. Good job done in the end 8)
