Which catback?

Hi,

And a happy new year to you all! cheers..

My exhaust is stock (recently replaced with new GM manifold & centre section at silly cheap prices so couldn't say no!(no precat)) with the old letterbox backbox that is immenently due for replacing...

Is there any power gain for swiching to another backbox with the stock exhaust?

I see a few choices:

Another letterbox
Double D style
Gsi Twin slash

Or aftermarket with Scorpion, Milltek, Remus or Magnex.

Advise much appreciated 🙂

2.5" Magnex or Milltek would be my choice for a full catback system when looking for a performance gain.

Your letterbox style box is not really any different from the irmscher DD/GSi rear box and won't make any difference. They're just cosmetically different. Its what you like.

Remus generally has a loud raspy sound and not much else goin on. I've had so many different combinations over the years, i've lost count. :lol:

Unless you can find someone who is selling a Milltek, you can't get one anymore. Magnex is a very good system.

i agree with john on the magnex ,its what i have on mine cat back with a twin slash sounds lovely
