Today is the first time that we have been out since Saturday. I've been out to the garage to fiddle with the car yesterday but haven't been outside the front gate.
I put on my new braided fuel pipe yesterday. That's been a right pain in the ass. I bought some pipe from Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe race circuit last Thursday and it turned out to be the wrong internal diameter. Basically I fucked up! Once its cut off the roll its non returnable so I wasted £20 on 2 lengths 0f 0.5mtr and the 2 red anodised end caps. I went back up on Friday and bought the correct pipe but only 1 length and 2 more caps as the outer dia. was also larger. I also had to buy 2 pipe clips to route the pipe round the side of the cam cover. Another £20 gone!
Anyway, all fitted yesterday. Whilst I was at it I checked the water level, brake fluid and then the oil. I was a little worried when I found no oil on the dipstick. The car was parked on flat ground and I checked 3 times. Absolutely nothing! Just over a 1ltr of oil later and I had an oily stick again. The garage is now clear of Christmas presents so I can start using it again now.
So, we're off out down to Weston Super-Mare this afternoon for a walk along the sea front. Lauren is upstairs now saying that she wants to go onto the Grand Pier. That's gonna cost me!
