well the chain snapped with out a single sign of a rattle full service history i have a vectra b and now im faced with the job of engine swapiing

i have in my garage a z18xe inc ecu /chip/reader and full loom and exhaust what would be involved in me transplanting this into the space of the z22se ? cant be doing with this so close to christmas i am a confident mechanic with engine swaps and other stuff but as moneys tight i have the complete engine sat doing nothing (z18xe)

engine/gearbox/mounts, throttle in the z22se is fly by wire, power steering is run off of the inlet cam on the z22se as with the z18xe is electric IIRC??

use same gerbox ? powersterring pumps run of the crank altnator belt at the front on the z18xe and is also fly by wire

Does the xe use an F23 box?

Will probs have a F18 in there...as the xe is a small block and the f23 wont fitty

Nope the f23 is a big block gearbox... so wont fit the smallblock z18xe..

looks like im gunner need a box what about the wiring will the loom from inside the car to the ecu still be the same

Mate you'd be easier and quicker buying a new head and chain kit if you ask me. Sell your spare engine to cover towards the costs.

nobody wants a z18xe its only got 25k on the clock aswell
its complete inc starter manicat alt and starter

that would have been the connecting cheap engine parts that broke. The pushrod likely came out because the cam got damaged, or broke with all the shrapnel that was inside the motor, and it simply fell down and out the hole.
