Mark_Dj I have just got my new Pioneer double din head unit today but the facia surround I bought for it with the fixing cage does not sit on tight. It just falls off if I touch it. I can't even see how it's meant to stay on. I have clipped the black surround into the other part of the facia surround and tried to pop it onto the radio but not having much luck 🙁
Mark_Dj Does the cage have to be out before I do this? I have just secured the cage to the car ie bent all those prong things into place lol
Matt If you look at the below picture Mark, you can see the facia surround goes in place first, and then you put the cage through that, which holds it in place: Stereo by Matt Worthington, on Flickr
Matt It took me a few attempts to fit it properly as well Mark. I don't know why they don't include proper fitting instructions with the kit
Mark_Dj Mine is now in and secure 🙂. Matt, does your head unit stick out from the dash much? Mine is out about 1 1/2 cm's notsure.gif . Looks ok though
Matt That is stuck out a bit more than mine....but I think because the Astra one curves slightly, it makes it look less obvious Stereo by Matt Worthington, on Flickr
Mark_Dj You know when you fitted the fixings to the side of your head unit, how far up did you have the locking tabs? The bronze things. I copied of this one..
Matt Erm, I can't remember Mark? I'll have a look through my pictures and see if I can find something.
Matt I can't find any pictures of the side of the cage. I don't remember what I had it set on either :-(
Mark_Dj Cheers matt. Thats the picture I copied for my radio fitting. For the radio to sit more flush I think the bronze bits would be more towards the front of the head unit.

Did you hit lucky, or did you have to move them up and down till it was right. I would have never have know unless I went from this picture above
