Hi all, after an unexpected extended holiday in Cyprus, I got home yesterday. This morning I started my coupe and it ran for about a second, then died, I figured it was just because it hadn't been run for a while, but when i turned the key to try and restart, it just spins up real fast with no signs of trying to fire or any sort of compression noise. I think my chain has snapped. Strange as no noise, rattle or anything previous, it ran a dream! It has done 61k miles with full dealer service.
My question is, what sort of damage is it likely to have done? I'm hoping as I wasn't driving or under ANY load, it will be a case of just replacing the chain, tensioners etc, could I be that lucky or is it always catastrophic?
