xenon light issue

I'm in need of some advice from you fine fellow forum members.
Basically i have the vectra b cdx model with xenon headlights. The problem is that they seem to only illuminate out to about 30-40 foot in front of the car at most and the driver side beam does not have the kick up towards the nearside either.
The car has been lowered on a gmax sport kit about 3.5 years ago before i was frequently deployed away with work. (car was sorn'd and garaged for the time).
When i came back and was again around long enough the car was mot'd and put back on the road. The weather was improving and i did not really drive at night to that degree, alas now with the long winter nights i am finding the beam of the lights dissappointing/disconcerting at times. :wtf:
I was wondering if i could tweak the beam height/aim by either a trip to the stealers or someone with relevant diagnostic equipment or if i would be better either disconnecting the x2 sensors mounted on the front and back suspension or adjusting it to fool the electronic beam leveller to think that the rear was higher than it is thus raising the beam aim enough to illuminate enough of the road ahead.
mine go through the headlamp level aim when you first switch them on so i feel the system is ok in that respect.
I have seen many other makes of car with xenons and the beam is straight out with good distance and illumination compared to mine.

All 2.6 with xenon the same but it can adjust height

I retrofitted xenons to mine, no self-levellers but still had them adjusted properly. I think the light output is generally disappointing anyway, I got a big shock when I went from HIDs to xenons 🙁

Also the projectors are a lot smaller when you compare them to other, newer, cars!

Yeah u can upgraded the xenon to 55w hid kit so that mean removed ur ballast off so use this to plug it in it will give out more than standard I was thinking about it for a while

To answer your question about fooling the self levellers; I was thinking maybe you could put some washers between the sensor and what it mounts to at 1 side of the self leveller only. In theory this would trick the sensor into thinking the rear is higher. Im thinking along the lines of for example if you had a spirit level and tilted it at 1 end making the bubble move.

I dont know if the self leveller has a similar design but worth a try...... notsure.gif
