What bhp to expect

What bhp I should get from my Z22SE with these mods:

2,5" catback
2,5" downpipe with decat (also maincat is removed)
4-1 manifold (as identical as possible to piper one)
70mm intake pipe to tb
K&N panel filter
EGR pipe removed and intake manifold and tb cleaned.

What about with regrind cams (with/without remap)

At a rough guess around 155-160 without cams

cams normally add around 10bhp to the z22se engine

What do you guys think should I buy the 2.4 intake manifold or not? I'm going to put the regrind cams in so can I expect any gains with the new manifold compared to the old one? I'm going to stop the "tuning" after the possible intake manifold and remap because I want to keep things simple and easy mots in the future 😃

2.4 works best with cams etc :thumbup:

2.4 manifold is a great mod. More high rev power no detriment to low rev power. Only downside is you will most likely need to travel to CMS to get a remap. Even so this is well worth the effort.

balance shaft deleted
Piper cams

I'm going to fit the ported std throttle body and 2,4 intake manifold. Is it possible to run lean mixture after fitting the 2.4 intake because I'm really not able to get a remap to this one in my home country 🙁 Don't want to kill the engine because of lean mixture and specially now when I have just made a full rebuild to the engine 🙂

You can post your ECU to CMS although I'm not sure I would like to do that. Where are you bud?

Finland 😃 There are not many people who are tuning this engine. People here still like to build c20xe race engines and off course the c20let and z20let 😃

I reckon my engine with the 2.4 manifold must be the exception to the rule? After much developement and testing at Courtenay in early 2008, my engine produced no more power with the 2.4 manifold fitted nor no less. However there was a 20lbs torque loss.

Prior to the 2.4 inlet, the mods were as follows:

Ported cylinder head
Schrick Cams/Double Valve Springs
Ported/Polished TB
Vectra C 70mm Air Intake Pipe
K&N Panel Filter/Ported Airbox
Hoffmann S/S Downpipe with 200 Cell Sport Cat
Pre Cat delete
2.5" Milltek Cat Back System
Courtenay Remap

These mods were proven time after time to produce 180bhp and 170lbs torque. As mentioned above, once the 2.4 inlet was fitted it was 20lbs down.

my original engine ran on the standard map and pulled 199.8bhp*

*well thats what the rolling road said at the time, not sure it really was that high
