Maverick Headlamp Washer Installation As I will be installing the factory Xenon headlights in the near future, I decided to tackle the job of installing the headlamp washer system as this is a legal requirement for Xenon headlights. So here is how it was done Bags of Vauxhall parts! First, remove the original washer bottle. Drill the hole for the water level sensor and re-fit the original sensor from the old bottle. Then fit the screen washer motor in the new bottle, and also the new headlamp washer motor. Fit the new bottle and connect back up the plugs for the level sensor, and both motors. The plug for the headlamp washer motor is taped up in the loom. For the hose clips, you will need to drill 4 holes. One is already there and the others are pre-marked. Then of course paint all holes and leave to dry.[/B] Clips just then pop in. Connect the new hose and follow around the front of the car to the non return valve. This part of the job is then complete. Bumper On the inside of the bumper you will see a pre-marked shape that has to be cut out. I also covered the face of the bumper with masking tape to help protect it. Washer jet fitted The covers come in a nice shiney black plastic. I could have left it like this, but I decided to colour code them in flame red as per the factory option. Almost done! First, a 30 Amp fuse is to be put in position 9. Mine already had the fuse in place. Relay installed in the relay box under the bonnet behind the battery near the bulkhead. Cut the hoses to the right length and connect to the jets using the connectors. With the lights off, the screen washer spray as usual. Then switch on the headlights and the headlamp washer will spray. Job Complete! All Complete!

astra22bertoneauto Excellent job there! Could we have a list of part numbers of the bits you bought please? I have been reading up on fitting xenons to factory spec on my TIS 2000 & EPC cd's. Its a big job as you have to change a lot of wiring looms. Also you need the auto self leveller which attaches to the rear subframe. Not sure if you can still get the wiring looms from Vx? I bought some DEPO aftermarket ones and have noticed the indicator bulbs are different too.

vocky I retro fitted xenons to my old vectra, I got brand new headlights, ecu's, level sensors and plugs from a breakers then simply made the rest of the loom from scratch. I also wired it up to the tech2 plug so they could be calibrated 😃
astra22bertoneauto ive seen a few vectras with factory fit xenons about but astra ones seem to be rare as rocking horse poo. Goes to show can be done thou
Maverick Budget for about £180 and you won't be far wrong. But I got my pump off ebay for £12.50 and they are £56 + VAT each from Vauxhall! It is the same part number as the Astra VXR headlamp pump so should be a little easier to find. I have just ordered the Xenon headlights etc and should be doing the conversion early in the new year.
