Tubbe I was wondering if I must buy new lifters when I put regrinded cams to my engine? I know lifters don't like when the base circle is smaller and they usually start to make noise with new cams but is there any other way to make the engine quiet except changing new lifters?
vocky you can put some 1mm washers below the lifters on the z22se head, this will make up for the 1mm removed from the base circle of the cams and it will then run quiet
Tubbe I have to make sure that I understand what you mean. So do you mean that I put the washer under the hydraulic adjuster or between the finger follower and valve stem? How do I make sure that the washer keep in place in the cylinder head and won't do any damage?
vocky remove the hydraulic lifter, fit a 1mm thick washer, refit the lifter  only works on the z22se head, the saab head cannot use this method as the spacers would fall out
Tubbe Thank you very much. So that is going to be a very simple thing to do. Now I can save some money for further projects without spending them to buy new lifters
