New Engine Cover

Here is the original which is familiar to all

I didn't like the way it looks like a complete plastic slab, and I wanted to see the engine more. As I had bought the Courtenay badge it would be a shame to hide it. So I was looking at options, cutting the orignial to a differnet shape but this looked terrible.

I like to have everything looking OEM. I looked at leaving it off all together but it looked too messy.

So I obtained a Vectra B 2.2 engine cover. This needed quite a bit of modifying to fit, also I needed to have the front mounting points on the engine modified slightly.

This ensured a perfect fit

I think it looks alot better this way.

The only colour I would consider would be gloss black. Everything I do must be OEM+. The only engine covers that look good colour coded are the likes of the Z20 LET units.

To me, if it doesnt look like it 'could' have been done in the factory, then I won't do it.

Not 100% sure, think I prefer the original item, sorry.

I think it may look better without the badge on it.

yeah the badge looks tacky

It's only there because there is a raised circle in the cover that is the exact same size as the badge.
