Vectra b 2.2 just bought

Hi i have just purchased a really cheap vectra b 2.2 from car transplants. After reading on various sites about cam chain faults, I am worrying. Because the car is a cat c i dont have any service history or anything like that for it. It has only just covered 72k miles. Should i be worried? Thanks in advance cheers Adrian

yes mate they can snap at this mileage mine did 🙁 but i fixed it showo..

Not what i wanted to hear at all. The engine sounds really quiet. Dont sound like a good buy at all if the chains need replacing. :cry:

tbh mate if you hunt around you can get it done cheap and once its done you havent got much to worry about if the chain is quiet it should be ok

If its go no history and you are going to keep it get the chain done.

Will i need to replace the balancer chain aswell? I have changed the timing chain kit on a meriva. Is this something i can tackle at home? Is there anyway i can tell if it has been changed beofre? Any advice is appreciated cheers Adrian
