I would say the same. Fit a chain kit, do a compression test and if all pots are the same reading (+- 1bar max) then id say you <u>might</u> have got away with it.......
If you havent then head off replace a couple valves maybe..... Doubt by your description you'd done much more damage. Saying that normally chain tensioners seize up a bit and engine sounds like a diesel for a bit (big warning sign).
