Z22yh gutless below 2500 rpm

Hi to all,
My first post so here goes !!!. Ive got a 2005 2.2 sri Z22yh (only found out about the HPFP and fuel regulator issues after i bought it ). It had a revised fuel pressure regulator fitted about a 2 years ago by previous owner. The HPFP is still original. Ive had no issues apart from a slightly lumpy tick over but was told this was normal. Couple of weeks ago it started stalling intermitantly on tick over. The revs would drop and if i put my foot down it wouldnt recover, the revs would continue to drop and it would stall. It would start no probs straight after. This has been combined with a total lack of grunt below 3000rpm with a very uneven pick up through the rev range. I have also noticed a lot more induction noise with it. . I have to lift off then re-apply the throttle to find its sweet spot to get a half decent pick up. Got the HPFP changed and it now tick over fine and it pulls fine after 2500 but still really poor below this ???.
Got an Opcom it comes up with no fault codes found. Ran it without the maf connected and there wasnt really any difference. Anybody got any ideas or tests i could do ?? was thinking of replacing maf anf FPR

also front lambda sensor

using opcom you should be able to print out the voltages of the front lambda at idle and post em up on here

the maf and front lambda work very closely together to get the right mixture

Forgive the stupidity !! as iam a bit new to Opcom. Can you tell me what the the front Lambda sensor is called on the Opcom recording program. Have plugged the car in and been through the different seetings and cannot seem to find it anywhere ??

Ok think i got to the bottom of this. Sorted my sensors out and recorded the following

Bank1 Sensor 1 on tick over approx 1.465 mV / Bank 1 Sensor 2 approx 762 mV .Recorded on tick over when car was warm.

Do you want me to post the whole readout ?? . Dont know if the above readings are good or bad ?? dunno..

What do you lot think ?? :crazy:

Hello,
I have similar issue, but I have only problem with starting the car. When I start the engine for the first time (temperature outside doesn't matter) the engine starts but the noise is very odd (like it is not completely turned on) and the rpm-s goes up and down; and the battery light is on. But when I tick over for second time all is OK. I must add that this doesn't happen every time- very random. Only thing I noticed that I get slightly better chance when I push the key with little force inside and start the engine, or only my imagination.
Ok, I will check first if I have Siemens pump or it was already changed.
I know it is an old tread, but maybe there is someone who had similar issue and can direct me in right direction what this could be. This problem was already when I bought the car- 2 years ago and mechanics couldn't tell what is the cause, only we will have to wait.

I checked and the pump was already changed, I have Continental. I have already changed spark plugs, after that one week seemed that problem is gone, but sadly not. Does anyone have a clue, what would cause strange first tick over?

I think there was a recall on the Z22YH for the FPR.
You may want to check with your local Opel dealer if this was carried out.

There was @[deleted] I checked mine with the dealer who first serviced it and he said it had been done on mine.

Starting problems disappeared after changing the timing chain. The cause was probably too much stretched chain. Now engine starts fluidly.
If someone have the same problem with starting, I hope it will help.
