Bravo_charlie notsure.gif Hi everyone have just joined I was a member over on aoc. Basically I thought I would be better off joining z22se instead as there isn't much on aoc about the astra g 2.2 . Over the next couple of weeks I will be changing the middle section on my Astra g 2.2 hatch and I have just bought a new Irmscher backbox and my Vauxhall dealer is looking £123 + vat for the centre section and for that sort of money I could go for a stainless steel pipe. What would you recommend me to buy Powerflow, Remus, Magnex or corba any feedbeed would be helpful.
vocky Hello and welcome to the site cheers.. Most power gains are made from fitting a sports cat section and 4-1 exhaust manifold
Matt Middle box being replaced with a stainless one will still give a nice noise increase with the Irmscher back box. Sjdickso had this done before also getting a sports cat fitted.
Bravo_charlie  My funds are limited at the minute and I was looking at doing this in stages. That why I was starting with a stainless steel centre section as the car is going for a mot in 3 weeks time.
Bravo_charlie After reading a few threads about a Remus centre section would I be right in reading that the Remus centre section would bolt straight on to the existing cat to the flange of the irmscher backbox .
astra22bertoneauto Well you have a few options: - 1) goto a specialist exhaust place for a stainless steel setup inc 200 cell cat. about £200-300 (at a guess). 2) Standard downpipe with cat from ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120714639460? ... 1438.l2649 3) Standard centre & rear section from ebay - Coupe - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120400538037? ... 1438.l2649 Hatch - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTR ... 1c09ccb010 & rear box fitting kit - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTR ... 1c1d8fc036 Motor factors are priced in the same region for standard bits. Hope this helps
delgado900 I've got a 2 part race tube in the garage with a sebring back box that im going to be selling soon if its on any interest http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2248/car6tz6.jpg Robbed the pic of AOC as i never fitted the backbox
mazza_2_2 I'd recommend you don't go to Powerflow like i did. What they do is when they carry out the work is they dont just replace the section required replacing, they also alter the connecting pieces as well to ensure that any future work that needs doing has to get done by them. Which is what i'm having to do.
si_c1978 hi and welcome from me, i agree NO powerflow they replaced a section of pipe on mine and i found out sometime later they had downsized a meter long section :wtf: scorpion kits are also affordable on ebay and of good quality.
Sjdickso I would say if budget is tight and you have a new irmsher BB which are restrictive a would go for a Remus race tube straight fit on cheers.. As Matt said gave a nice sound even with standard cat and manifold.
