PO141 engine fault code

Hello all,

I've had this code for a number of weeks now. I have removed the code with a computer, replaced the lambda sensor but nothing. I did read some where that you can bypass the fault? soldering in some thing? Is this right?

on a previous post it states this, i know that if the heater circuit breaks down it fucks the lambda, all these sensors use the heater element to pre-warm the sensor before the engine fires as without it the extreme temps from the exhaust gasses knacker the sensor itself,
as far as im aware its a whole new sensor there is no seperate heater.

i can provide data and drawings/wiring for the sensor if you want but i dont see it doing any good.

All wires appeal fine, as do all the connections. So perhaps buy that universal CEL 02 fix sensor? The pre cat has been removed btw.

ah maybe it wasnt cleaned well enough and bits made their way through to the sensor??

Only problem is, the light was on before I removed the cat. I removed the precat along with fitting 2 new lambda sensors but still the light is on. I've reset the light, reset the ECU. The light comes back on after around 2/30 minuntes of driving. notsure.gif

I'm sure I read some where that you can put some kind of connection soldered into the lambda wires to stop the EML returning. Is this true? :roll:

i think were missing the point here the heater for the lambda is under performing according to your error code. swap the sensor

Sensor has already been replaced according to original post......

then you need to get a multimeter and check the power supplys and earths to the sensor as the heater turns on before the sensor, i can supply wiring diagrams for the sensor if needed :thumbup:

Thanks a lot for all your input buddy. Lastly, could you tell me how I use a multi meter on the sensor? I think there are 4 wires for the sensor? notsure.gif

Were they genuine vx sensors you used or aftermarket ones?....as the cheap aftermarket ones do what they say on the tin.....cheap... and dont work....

They were used genuine and not displaying faults on the donor car... connections have been wd40'ed, etc , etc

Bringing this topic back to life. How would you test each wire with a multimeter? what must each wire need to measure? All in volts I assume? Sorry, I am new to all this as Im sure you can tell. notsure.gif
