New map fitted

I had my BSR re map fitted tonight, I took her out for a test drive and I thought I would pull over to check under the bonnet. The Turbo was glowing red :crazy: I took it steady on the way back home and parked it up on the drive, I popped the bonnet again and all looked normal. I let it cool down before I switched it off. My boost gauge used to boost to 10PSI and drop just under. My boost gauge is now boosting to 20PSI :twisted: . The car feels great, very happy with it. I will just have to watch my Turbo for glowing red and make sure it's cooled right down. My car is also popping in every gear, more than it used to :razz:

Lol, it's fun now. I bought my map for better fuel economy. Can't wait to seee what I am saving when I use it as normal

You could do with a turbo cool down timer being fitted. As for the fuel economy, touching 20psi and glowing turbo! me thinks fuel economy gone right out the window :thumbdown:

Perhaps when driving it off boost it may have a better economy, time will tell wont it Mark :lol:

Mazza I see you live local to me, I live in Gateshead, just notcied your from the toon lol. I probably have noticed before that, but have forgot :crazy: . My Turbo was only glowing red as I had been giving it some beans, I was testing out the new map :razz: . I will get a better fuel economy when I drive normal again 8)

you will see a lot better economy if you behave yourself (IF! :lol: ) but mine drinks it at 14 15 psi!
on the turbo score i had to revise all my vacuum hosing shortly after upping the boost asw it all got hot and collapsed! :wtf:
unfortunately my map sensor is in my ecu and it lives in the glovebox so ive got a lot of pipe!

:crazy: yeah im sure we've acknowledged our close proximities before haha, i think it was when i was looking through some of your photos and i was seeing laods of places i recognised like Priory castle n that 🙂
Dont tell me you used to hang out by the strip when you were younger :oops: lol.

About your car though... how impressed with it are you? What's the difference like mate?

Love the new power, pulls very smooth and keeps going strong. My mate with an Astra VXR loved the map, he said it was better than his standard VXR one. He drove it last night and he loved my 3rd and fourth gear.

Your mate with the VXR he's the one who detailed your car aye? Im surprised he's said it drives better than his, it must be a superb map for a stage 1 in that case. I bet your 0-100 time has come down loads now as well 🙂

Yes it was Paul who drove my car, he is a member on here. He used to have a Astra 2.2, then he bought a silver Astra Gsi, he then got the Arden Blue VXR. He said my map feels better than his standard VXR map. I just hope it does not throw up any more fault codes, even though it's been out today and it was fine. I just think it was Pauls driving lol. Big brakes next I think and a bigger intercooler. Was thinking of getting a Scan gauge 2 OBD2 to keep an eye on my water temp and inlet temps.
