Z22SE idle @ 650rpm

Ive allready read something about people on the forum that also had an low idle and most of the time the EGR valve is closed wit a plate and they added the EGR cheater.
To bad that they dont notice at what rpm the idle is when the problem is solved. 🙁

Ive been to the dealer today and the guy there has used (Tech 2) diagnostics software and turned off the EGR valve softwarematicly and disconected the EGR electrically.
And cleaned the throttle body,but i allready did that a while ago.
Still have the same problem that it is running 600/650rpm and i noticed that when i turn on the airco the idle is going up till 750rpm,but mabe that hasnt got anything to do with the normal idle without electrical load.
Oh,i did pay € 157,- for that and i think it is a lot of money dont you guys think?

So mabe someone can tell me howmuch rpm the Z22SE should run normally?
And give me any helpfull info about the 600/650rpm problem.

i had same problem .. turned out to be my spark plugs .. got a new set from ebay for £8 and gm ones too ..

my car is now cured and running fine .. has its power back too as i found it a little slow ... 20000 miles i got out that set of plugs

I have got new ones from NGK a while ago and ive seen that someone on the forum that had problems with the NGK's.
So mabe that is the problem and i have to just swap them for orginal GM or mabe Bosch? (i love Bosch sparkplugs)
And what idle rpm is your car running now?

looks fine

i got same rpm on my astra - i plugged in my laptop and the revs were showing closer to 800 - the rev counter is not the most accurate

it doesnt seem to be hunting either so ...

you will know if the car is struggling as you feel the engine vibrating and hunting to stay idle but yours looks fine imo

Don't know what my rpm are really doing lmao i've messed with the clocks that much i should stick on a Tech 2 diagnostis software. maybe i will one day lol

It is not struggling and only hunting minor.

Today i checked the spark plugs and they were lightbrown?
Normal they should be grey shouldnt they be?
I then bought NGK R spark plugs and mabe the engine doesnt like them?
So ill just swap them for normal ones from Bosch i think.

I also disconected the carter vent and i think its running a bit smoother also.

I've just swapped the plugs in my new 2.2. They had ngk single electrode ones in and the idle was a bit low (₇₀₀) and hunting more than it should. Under load though it started to missfire. Put in new genuine plugs and idle now sits spot on 750 with very little hunting.

Oke,and what "genuine" spark plugs have you used?
Ik have the NGK R so thats with the 3 way on top.
If it was single i had tried to adjust the gap.

I've got a set of GM triple electrode plugs if you want them? Have them listed in the shop, but can do them for £8 which is what I paid for them?

Only thing is that i live in the Netherlands so i think its cheaper to get them at a dealer in my neighbourhood?

Well if you see how much they cost locally, it may be cheaper to get them (although they are almost £20 a set from a dealer here in the UK).
