After nearly a month since I crashed Christines car, the insurance paid out last week. We've been looking for a replacement almost straight after the crash and we've travelled to Newbury, Peterborough, South wales, Swindon and most of the surrounding 30 mile radius of Bristol. All of this travelling has racked up 1000 miles on the Vectra and a HUGE fuel bill!
Earlier this week, Chris was walking the children to school which just happens to pass a secondhand car dealer and she spotted an Astra Twintop that she liked. I kept putting her off. It wasn't practical nor diesel. She looked again on Tuesday and saw an Audi A3. She showed me it online when I got home from work.
I liked it but never thought about getting one for Chris. She popped in again on Wednesday morning with another mum from school and had a look round. Then had another look Thursday and again today. I thought it was about time I had a look so I finished work at 4pm today and went for a test drive. It was great! I got sucked in and bought it.
Very solid feeling and quite powerful too. I can see myself driving it more than her I think.
Its a 56 plate A3 170 Sport model in metallic black. 258lbs torque! Full Audi service history. It has 35k miles and its last service was at 30k.
She collects it on Monday. Insurance was quite respectable too with Admiral. Even with my indiscretion it came in at under £500. Looking forward to Monday night now!
