Hi all, been on the site for a few months now however to date no posts dunno... been reading up on a lot of info on the site and also bought an egr blanking kit and cheater from the store. The car in question is a 2001 vectra sri 150 saloon which has done just over 90k. Anyway on to my prob recently when driving if i accelerate hard from low revs i can hear a sort of rattling noise at first i thought it could be the bottom end knocking but now i'm thinking it could be the chain. It only happens at low revs when under load, once the revs pick up it sounds fine. could this be the chain slipping or a tensioner rattling or something? I realise that with the mileage and year its bout time the chain was done anyway but if i could hold of anther six months or so i'd be in a better financial situation to get it done. i only do around 2-3k miles a year as i live within walking distance to work so the car is only really used to nip to the shops and rarely do over 2500 revs. if its is the chain should i stop using it all together or with little use should it be ok?
Many thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer!!!!
