As above folks, want to do a complete change on the steering fluid, Haynes manual states nothing about renewing the fluid, only topping up. I know I can use the turkey baster method, but that still leaves the old fluid in the rack, I've also read that you can't run steering pump without any fluid in as it will knacker it.
So  , if I jacked up the front of the motor so there is no weight on the wheels, use the baster to remove fluid from the reservior & without running the engine full lock the steering to get the old stuff from the rack , would this be possible without damaging the pump or will it still do notsure.gif .
Or is there a damn easier way dunno.. . I would like to renew the fluid without having to waste gallons mixing new with old then removing until I get clean oil, all this on a Vec b.
Cheers for all advice folks.
