quick answer please , regrding engines

i have a vectra b 2.2 with a knackered engine.

will a z22yh engine fit in it ? It has the z22se engine in at the moment.

a quick reply please, as i have a chance of buying the engine tomorrow.

I think a bigger problem than it physically fitting in will be the engine managment side of things. your curent ecu and all the ancilerys that go with it probably wont be happy with a diferent model engine. I'd save yourself the hastle and find a z22se. I think you can get them new on a pallet from vaux for about £1000. is it worth messin about with an old one?

the crank is knackered on my engine, beyond repair!

I've just been told that the bottom end is the same as mine' but the head is different.

I'm getting the engine for 400 pound.

the cheapest second hand SE engine I could get was 900 plus VAT.

If you have the Ecu and key from the z22yh engine you should be ok to fit the full engine. Well thats to start it up anyways. I can't see why it won't start as it's nearly the same engine. If the mounts are the same it will defo fit.

I ended up buying the engine anyway, but, I'm not going to be using it, I'll just sell it on.

I ended up buying another BRAND NEW ENGINE from ebay, never been fitted Z22SE, which came complete with everything ( apart from power steering pump )

I am just going to fit it tomorrow, so i'll keep you all posted.

i have noticed one difference with the engine, which im suprised at , as it is a Z22SE the same as mine.
I have started a new post for this, so any help again, appreciated !
