Maybe anyone looking for a 2.2 who sees her thread on there will find the link back to there, and be "enlightened" as to what is actually required, given we've got over 200,000 posts on here, for a forum about that specific engine!

I am so tempted to think to hell with it, and go for it with my engine N/A to prove a point. From what I understand, the 2.4 manifold and 68mm throttle body works very well if you have head, cams, exhaust manifold etc.

So if the head and cams on this Vectra are standard, then it's no where near what they claim.

What I don't understand is why people with well known cars claim in a feature that they have mega power, when several if not hundreds of owners are not stupid.

tbh matt most of their misinterpreted information has probably been ripped straight from here, in my expierience on the other forums they are all to stuck up their own ass's to give any advice or (and my favourite bet!) they know sweet fuck all about this family of engines!!!!

I thought i would come on here to put a few facts straight regarding the vectra b 2.2 in TV mag i have spoken to the people that have done the rolling road and they have informed me that the figure they gave is 240NM of torque not 240BHP.
The said young man had got the figures totally wrong indeed the bhp figure is 170BHP for this car total vauxhall asked for the BHP figure and 240BHP was told to them because that is what we were told at the rolling road.
I hope this clears up any problems this has caused on yours and other websites

this would be 177lbs ish of torque

thank you for being honest and posting the above info, it takes guts to admit something is wrong and as you have said you only posted the info you received from the rolling road.

ps: otherwise it was a good feature and you have a well looked after sri150 in the best colour too :thumbup:

As above. Thank you Michael. There was no doubt that a lot of time and effort has gone into Jackies car and it is clearly a very well looked after car that deserved a place in TV. Its a shame that the information that you had been given has overshadowed the feature.

But.......on the upside, its been the talk of the Vauxhall community for over a week now. It'll never go unrecognized that's for sure.

It is good that is has been cleared up, and it is a very nice Vectra, I drove past it last night and it looks good. Especially now that horrible rear spoiler has gone.

So now we know it is not 240bhp (and never did :wink: ) what is their to keep to themselves?
