how much boost?

as above how much boost can i push out of the z20net garret turbo?
im feeling like maximising my engines potential and it can always be a bit more terrifying.
my passengers are getting used to it! lol

Quick google shows it's a Garrett GT2052S, and various bits of info say it can happily cope with upto 25psi!

guess whos winding the actuater in a bit/lot when i pick up the laptop!
i think im going to turn on 2 x ve tables so i can switch to a 2nd table to have better fueling resolution during boost,also it will mean less alterations to my current map as im not sure ive allowed for THAT kind of pressure increase!
my map will hit the roof! lol

picking up the laptop from father in laws shop tomorrow im going to wind the boost up to start with just within the existing ve table (i have 250%kpa map and only use 170% @ extremes now)
it will take me while to work out/write/tune a second table, ill do it on a switchble map then ive got to get to the rollers!
20 psi is going to bw my goal grrrrrrr!

20psi should still be plenty enough. The VXR only holds 14psi.

powers an unknown at the mo a hell of a lot has changed over the last year.
ive been forced to refine the setup due to various issues. cold running,
coil pack etc.
since ive remedied thee problems all i can tell you is its quick and pulls hard in every gear up to the limiter.
0-60 is around 7.5 with a lot of wheel spin.
its the 60-100 thats impressive mind.
suspensions a bit out of my budget at the mo but im sure that will help.

well ive cranked it up to 14 psi and run out of adjustment with no ill effects.
there is more lag but this is not a bad thing as my pulling off is less aggresive.
some mods to the actuater or mounting plate will see more pressure when i get round to it.

the first trip to work today, its a horrible road with lots of badly cambered junctions and stuff,
the car is in many ways a lot more driveable and maybe more economic as the turbo doesnt whack straight up to max boost when you open the throttle and on the whole can be driven almost all the way @ atmosphere or less, unless pulling away, so i may leave it as it is @ 14psi as the lag can only get bigger.
ill do a spot more tuning at the weekend, then think about booking up tipton rollers. :thumbup:

what can i expect to see on my boost gauge dial?
at the mo it spools up to about 14psi (or just over at wot) it takes longer than before, and where it applies the power appears to have shifted. it holds, then as i get up higher in the revs it drops back off, (maybe 5500+)
is this normal? or should i be hunting for a leak in my run pipe? notsure.gif

scratch that ive been bottling it a bit on the throttle, theres not many good straights round here. i had a good run earlier and the gauge held well untill a bit of poo came out, so conclusion is i was being a wetty.:oops:

well ive had aquite a few road tunes this weekend and im certainly noticing the changes!
i was running lean at wot/full boost about 14-1 afr.
ive pulled that down to the low 11's and christ is it fast, actually holding 14 psi even with a hill is just fucking scary!
the importance of getting to the rollers is very apparent.
im getting untuned patches in my map which i have to smooth manually if the figures around it are massively different.
i let my mrs drive it to see what its like as a passenger,
she pushed max boost round a corner not bothering to feel the throttle in 3rd and i thought i was going to die!
i was in the feotal position hanging off the side handle.
still she learnt what turbos do and i learnt to feel sorry for my passengers :lol: :lol:
