Thinking of going back to Vectra

I am thinking of going back to the Vectra side again, 2.0 Turbo it would be just like my last one but a facelift version. My Astra has been a good car but I felt like the Vectra owned the road more, lots more room in the Vectra. The Vectra prices have come down loads since I sold my last one. Am I mad for wanting to go back? :crazy:

Not really, I really liked my Vectra C, the only thing I didn't like was the diesel engine part of it.

End of the day, it's all down to what you want from a car.

If I did more mileage, which warranted a larger car, I'd defo go back to a Vectra (or the new Insignia)

Yes the Vectra is a nice drive and bigger car. Part of me is saying go for the VXR Vectra :twisted: . I will have a good think about this before I start spending money on my Astra as I was planning Stage 1 soon.

The facelift Vec C Z20NET has a larger turbo than the pre facelift. I believe one guy is running 260 on his at the moment with Maptune software (Saab specialist) have you considered the 2.8 Signum, they map up to VXR power and are considered to be built better than the Vec.

I like the Signums but my girlfriend hates them notsure.gif . To me a Signum is half and Astra and half Vec lol. That is a nice one in the link drool.gif

The bloke who did my SMD conversion bought a 2.8T Vectra, and had it mapped to VXR spec. Was an Elite I think, with the auto box fitted, and it was bloody quick from what he said. Very well spec'd as well.

I still might keep the Astra yet, if I keep spending on it I may as well. I just wish it had a more modern style Turbo lump under the bonnet, as a few little thing go wrong with these from time to time.

Not really Mark, don't forget, forums don't give an accurate representation of stats, due to most people only posting when they have issues. The block used in that engine has been around years. It's mainly the ancillary parts that go wrong, which are all repairable.
