Gazza Hello All can anyone help with the below problem ? my garage is at the end of the garden about 40ft from the router in the house. if i stand out side the garage i can pick up the wifi on my laptop but if i go inside the garage i cant so i was wondering if there was any way of getting a better signal in the garage can i buy anything to bost the signal ? im not to good on computers so not sure what to do ? i dont want to run an Ethernet cable all the way down there either if i can help it. thanks for any help
Matt Do you have power from the house to the garage from the same fuse box? You could always run Ethernet over Power (that is what I do). Failing that, you could set up a wireless repeater. What make/model is your current router?
Gazza hi matt the garage is run off its own fuse box which comes from the workshop in the garden. in the workshop there is another fuse box ? and im using the latest sky router box ? thanks
MikeS sky router being a dg834gt netgear ? one of the best repeaters is a wrt54g with dd wwrt firmware but that is limited to 54g
