06 Vectra C 2.2 Direct Missfire

Hi All,

I am new here, so please be gentle 🙂

I had the Fuel Pressure Regulator changed under a recall last month on my '06 Vectra 2.2 Direct Sri, and it has been miss firing under engine load ever since, i.e. when I push the car over 2.5-3000 rpm.

Dealer wanted me to pay £75 to read fault codes and carry out an investigation even though the missfire was not there before they got their hands on it.

However, the ECU light does not come on and I have no Fault codes logged when I connect a U480 coed reader... So I do not want to pay £75 for the pleasurer of the stealer telling me there is nothing wrong.

So I paid a visit to the dealer today and after a little debate 🙂 expalining I had read the fault codes, they are looking to take the car back in and swap out the replaced FPR for a new one. This will be ok if it fixes the misfire, but if it doesnt then I need to foot the bill for the new FPR and also whatever other investigation is required to actually fix the fault!!

Any ideas?

After having been in with the dealer yesterday, they called me on the way home to advise me to call Vauxhall and say what had happened after the new FPR had been fitted, just by coincidence, I was sitting on the hard shoulder of the motorway in limp mode, no power and the engine management light on when they called

I had my trusty code reader in the car so hooked it up to be told a misfire on cylinder 1, which could be as simple as a spark plug, but more than likely the coil pack

Reset the fault and the car stuttered home for me without throwing the light again

A new set of plugs at the weekend and then probably the coil pack next week

coilpack would be the most likely reason for the misfire without a code

Does it drive fine with low throttle but go into limp when you give it a bit of pasty? What make is your fuel pump Siemens by any chance?

Yes misfire and sometimes the emissions light comes on over 3000 rpm and Yes the fuel pump is a siemens

Id be looking the HP pump then tbh. Are your swirl flaps on the manifold working properly?
