Vectra C supercharger?

i put leds in the side lights n side repeaters, and number plate light,interior light, glove box and boot

n the only 1s still fitted are the interior,boot n glove box but still number plate lights but they flash if not turned on it just sounds like its 2 much hard work, dammmmmm you vauxhallllllllllllll

I suppose they have there benefits and i wouldnt be with out there little functions but it can be frustrating 🙁

i like that the car tells me that i have a bulb out

n that i get 24.9 mpg
n that my average speed is 17mph at the min

but why cant i bolt a supercharger on n it work:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

The problem is the Vec C has 20 odd "brains" that communicate with each other. Even a head unit swap isnt straight forward. If you want to swap a stock HU for another stock HU you have to divorce the doner HU from the first car via Tech 2 then marry it to the new car.

The Vec C doesnt even have the traditional constant live and ignition live to run an after market HU. It has a constant and a canbus "trigger" which when hooked up to a volt meter looks like a constant cycle pulse. You have to get funky with the wires and tap into things like the back of one of the 3 fuse boxes or ciggi lighter.

It can really be a pain in the arse, if you put led bulbs in they strobe like a cop car even with the car powered down and locked, again you have to get funky and tap into the dash lights and use relays to get led sidelights to work with out errors.

Blimey that's just over engineering at it's best lol what ever happened to vauxhalls being easy to work on..
Tbh I didn't realise the vectra c was as modern as that technology wise. In which case yeah it probably would be much less hassle buying a turbo vectra lol

Mine says all that but I'm guessing it's an older version and not so bad

yeh sounds well over complicated to me for a 11 year old car

i went n started my 1976 mini today for the first time in about 4 years n ran
quite well for the times its been stud

i mite just supercharge that its easier

theres not alot between my knees n what ever i hit though, which worries me

at least in the vectra theres quite alot of steel infront of me n a few airbags

Yeah I bet especially with the size of these range rovers etc these days they make my van look small lol

i wouldnt like to see a mini after hitting a range rover, it would be a right mess

Swedish Vec C 2.2 owner here.

Has anyone done this on a Vectra yet? I got a friend who will try to program. But i think it good to have the basic maps.

Not been done on a c yet.

i went down the turbo route instead.

I got all the parts from a 2.0turbo vectra and bolted them onto my 2.2 n now have a 2.2 turbo vectra c.

when i ever get the money together for the last few parts i should be running about 250/260bhp.

At the min id say 190ish bhp.

Sounds like an interesting projekt(what turbo do you use?).
I have had 2 diffrent 2,0 Turbos Vectras and 2 Saabs with the same engine.
So i'd like to do something diffrent then i started thinking about the SC. And i found a complete engine with the SC, So now i'm planning 🙂

I used the garrett turbo off the z20net at first but then moved onto the TD04 14t off the saab b207r engine.

A friend of mine is running a TD05 off a subaru impreza n running 357bhp on his z20net signum

he is attempting to supercharge aswell as the turbo

so he will be twin charged if all goes to plan n that will defo open doors for suoercharging the vectra c

Sounds really interesting i think z20net is good to SC since there are lots of people are good at ECUs for that engine. Is he here on the forum aswell.

I have that turbo on my wifes 9-3 and stage1+.. Works realy nice 265bhp
