Noisy Engine

Hi my engine has become very noise all of a sudden, no ticking or anything just rumbles loud. Iv tried filling up with oil and no change, anyone know what this can be? My car is 2002 with 85k on clock cheers

Does it sound like a diesel engine? Or is it a air blowing sound?

Like a sort of generator sound!

I would ask a mechanic to listen to it. But could be timing chain. Has it had 1 replaced in its history?

No it hasn't, is this a common sound for timing chains going?

Yes the engine sounds like a noisy diesel (generator sounds is similar) and is usually a sign that the chain tensioner is worn. Its recommended to replace both chain kits with tensioner.

Ask a mechanic to listen to the engine first to confirm. If it is there are people on here that can change both chains cheaper than Vx stealers
