Autovaux discs & pads

Rang up my local dealer and he said he could offer me 308mm discs & pads [front] for 115 incl VAT

looked on autovaux and they could do the discs for 68 incl VAT

ebay do mintex disc & pads for 90 incl VAT & delivery

i am stuck but i am siding towards oe as you can never really go wrong

amazing how prices have crept up over the last 18 months

Mike just go with the oe discs and pads, the trouble i have had in the past with after market discs / pads wheel vibartion due to disc run out, out of balance discs causing wheel wobble etc etc, plus the oe discs are balanced. The oe pads seem to have abetter bite giving an all round better feel when braking :thumbup:

Last time i purchased discs and pads the dealer sold them both as a kit.

Got gm 308s and gm pads on both our mike, and in all honesty i cant fault them....

Saab grooved and police spec pads would me my choice if you justify the spend :thumbup:

Autovaux do OE genuine pads for around £20 i believe the 308 discs they sell are mintex, apart from the other thread never heard of people moan about Mintex ok they are not for track day use but then they are not advertised as that.

well i got the carriers

i am gonna get some copper grease and some calliper paint over the next week and by then should of made a decision - however the rears are in need of some attention soon also

also looking at apex suspension kit as they have been recommended by quite a few peeps

Copper grease is not recommended for brake use....for some unknown reason......even tho ive been using it for 20 years +....will get a reason from pagid monday.....

got apex springs on mine and i cant fault them mike.....sit nice ..

i just power wash the lot down and use brake cleaner when i stripped it down 😛

tis what i normally do as i hate the skin reaction to brake dust
