AirCon or no Aircon

I have a 51 plate vectra B Sri 150 - i had it regassed when i got it 2 years ago at Kwik Fit - it took the guy two goes but then i had ice cold air con which was great - it lasted 2.5 weeks then faded away - is this a leak? i thought the system would be pressure tested before re-gas - any ideas welcome

You probably have a slow leak somewhere, when you get it pressure tested to check for leaks they put in a dye to see where it is leaking from so take it to somewhere where they can do that.

I had to replace the condenser and evaporator before mine started to work, absolutely did my nut in

ideally they should of pressure tested it as it is illegal to knowingly allow the gasses to evaporate into the atmosphere

and if it is leaking i would leave it as it is expensive to repair

I had my aircon regassed at kwik shit and yes it took them two attempts, the first attempt failed as gas was leaking from the front air con connectionn by the air box all over the bloody place, arrived back at Kwik shit they only released the gas from the leaking connector, they have no facilities to capture the leaking gas. Second attempt ok but aircon didnt feel as ice cold as before, didnt bother going back. Wont use them again :upyours:

We don't tend to get that harsh summers, so get rid of it if its costing you too much cash, cars lighter that way 😃
