Bought a Zafira 2.2 Design a month ago, all seemed great on the test drive, however a day or two after picking it up i noticed a tick. Not an obvious tick with the bonnet up, but loudish with the bonnet shut, and definately so next to a wall or other solid object, as it seemed to reflect the sound back from the wheel arch area. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with the dealer an independant inspection engineer recommended a new timing chain, guides and tensioner, when i went to collect it, the tick was still there and the dealer told me they had replaced the balance chain, guides and tensioner...FFS. So now they are going to replace the tensioner and not the whole camchain kit, and hope that cures it. So a few questions, how do they know the cam chain hasn't stretched? Shouldn't they have done both chain kits? How much are both chain kits? It's only got 43k on the clock, a Zafira B 55 plate, should it even be worn this soon with FDSH?
