Hi guys, sorry if this question has been posted loads of times already but here goes. I have a 2.2 SRI 150 '52 plate' (march). After reading a lot of horror stories about the chain snapping on engines of a certain period i am worried. The car has been rough idling the last few days and at first i was told it was possibly the EGR needed replaced or blanked off. However i read on another post that rough idling is a possible sign of a worn cam chain. Sluggish performance and poor fuel economy were also mentioned. I have had the car about 3 weeks and as its the first vectra i have had i don't know whether its sluggish or not. I know it would cost a lot more if the chain snaps but i am on a very tight budget and wondered if anyone could lend their knowledge ie if my engine was in the recall list and wether or not a complete noob  could do the cam chain change themselves.
Thanks and apologies for the long post.
[edit]also there is no noticable rattle or other noise when the car is idling[/edit]
