Hey peeps,
I have a 2006 2.2 direct 47K miles
Car had MOT this morning and passed with flying colours, he even commented how clean and healthy the car was.
Then around 30 minutes after getting back from the MOT I took a drive to argos (4 miles) was in there for around 20 mins then drove for around 5 mins and eml light came on (spanner in car) and lost all power. I switched ignition off waited 2 minutes and turned back on and all seemed ok but 2 mins later light back on and car in limp mode, wouldnt go above 20-30 mph and not 3000rpm on full throttle.
So Opcom has given me P1191-52
Fuel pressure skips between 4600kpa-5600kpa and pressure feedback says 1.5-1.7 V........
I had the same happen to me 5 months ago but slighty different as the car wouldnt start for 5-10 minutes after loss of power last time. But Vx said it was code P1191 and replaced the fuel pressure regulator under recall and everything has been great till today.
So am I right in saying as the pressure is averaging the ideal 5000kpa its NOT the HP fuel pump and its the fuel pressure regulator again?
I have called vx before I managed to get hold of the opcom and they said if its fuel pressure reg they will replace free of charge (as they should lol)
but if its the HP fuel pump im looking at £570 fitted, so I wanna know a little more before taking in the car tomoz so they dont try and replace the pump for the sake of it lol.
The mate with op com coudnt help as he knows nothing about the 2.2 directs or vec c as he is a vec b guy lol
Cheers peeps
